On the Issues

Reproductive Freedoms

Women’s reproductive freedoms are under attack in Washington and Augusta. Choices around a woman's body should be made between her and her doctor—not politicians who seek to strip away access to lifesaving treatment. In the State House, I’ll fight to ensure Maine women have access to safe and affordable healthcare, including access to reproductive healthcare.

Gun Safety

I’m in support of common sense reforms that put people first. From schools to concert venues, homes to places of worship, every Mainer deserves to live life free from the fear of gun violence.

Gun violence is preventable—and we can reduce it in our communities while respecting the rights of responsible firearm owners.

Environmental Protections

Our state is known for its wide swaths of pristine nature and high water and air quality. We need to ensure that protections for drinking water and the natural environment remain strong.

As our state grapples with the urgent threat climate change poses, we need strong advocates in the Legislature who will put people first.

We need to build climate-resilient communities and infrastructure statewide. We need to invest in technology like solar and wind that will lower the cost of living while decarbonizing key sectors. We need to invest in our roads, bridges, and shoreline to ensure they remain strong in extreme weather.

In Augusta, I’ll fight for policies that mitigate the worst impacts of a changing climate, ensuring that our economy, communities, and future remain strong.

Aging in Maine

It’s time for a conversation about how our state is aging. From transportation to healthcare and housing, planning for the needs of older Mainers in the next decade and beyond is critical to making Maine a better, more resilient place for all.

Workforce

We need to create jobs for the future while keeping talent in the state. I’ll fight to expand partnerships between employers, universities, and trade schools to ensure that young Mainers receive the skills and training for the high-paying, high-quality jobs of tomorrow.

The Opioid Crisis

We need to take an aggressive, ground-up approach to tackling the opioid epidemic, starting with supporting those struggling with substance use disorder. By recruiting and training more healthcare professionals to address housing and other basic needs, we can tackle this problem. Substance use disorder is a medical issue that can be solved with a holistic approach.
